Central Hawkeye Gas Engine & Tractor Association was started in the spring of 1970 as Branch 11 of the Early Day Gas Engine & Tractor Association. It was incorporated on February 5, 1972 with the purpose "to promote the collection, restoration, preservation, education and the exhibition of gasoline and oil engines, gas and steam tractors, power driven farm machinery and other articles of historical value".

12 miles west of Des Moines, Iowa on I-80, Exit 110 at Adel / Desoto,
North on Hwy. 169 for 8 miles , Fairgrounds on left.

At the December 2012 meeting of the Central Hawkeye Gas Engine and Tractor Association, the board voted to cancel the contract with Hawkeye Antique Acres. Be advised that Central Hawkeye Gas Engine and Tractor Association (herein referred to as the Tractor Club) and Hawkeye Antique Acres are two different entities. The Tractor Club does not own the property at Waukee. Due to contract issues with Hawkeye Antique Acres (often referred to as the land owners) and a recent spike in insurance cost, the Tractor Club will not return to Waukee for shows or Swap Meets. Central Hawkeye fully intends to continue on in another location. Vendors will be notified by February 1st (Tentative) of the new location.
